Bolton West MP Chris Green is hosting a ‘digital debate’ on cycling investment – and he wants Bolton residents to get involved.
The digital debate comes a day before a ‘real’ Parliamentary debate on the same topic, also organised by Chris, which will be taking place in Westminster Hall on Wednesday 3 February.
Now Chris wants as many local people as possible to get involved, simply by logging on to Twitter from 4.30pm to 5.30pm on Tuesday 2 February and using the hashtag ‘#Funding4Cycling’. Digital debates, which have only been hosted by ten MPs so far, are aimed at getting the wider public involved in politics.
Commenting, Chris said
“Many people in Bolton will be, like me, keen cyclists – we do after all live in one of the most beautiful places to cycle in the country.
“But to support cycling, whether for its benefits in relieving congestion or as a way of keeping us all fit and healthy, we need appropriate funding and support.
“This debate is a chance for anyone to have their say on investment for cycling and I hope as many local people as possible get involved.”
