There are big changes happening to the legal system here in England. It is natural that any large system or organisation will need to change from time to time but the reforms are also happening in the context of rebalancing the economy. It is only fair that the taxpayer, who funds much of the system, have value for money whilst ensuring that justice is served.
Working with Bolton Law Society, I invited the Secretary of State for Justice, Chris Grayling to Bolton to outline current changes to the legal system and then to discuss and answer questions on how the system will develop over the coming months and years.
As the system changes, I believe that it is vital that the people at the top hear our local voices and especially those from smaller firms away from London.
