MP supports Alzheimer's Society campaign

Last week I was pleased to lend my support to Alzheimer's Society, the UK's leading dementia charity, for Dementia Action Week. One million people will have dementia by 2021 and it is vital that we are able to deliver high quality social care to everyone that needs it.

Yesterday I spoke in the chamber about the importance of Government action to tackle plastic waste. Since the 5p plastic bag charge there have been 9 billion fewer bags distributed. But in the UK we go through an estimated 13 billion plastic drinks bottles a year.

It’s the second time the MP has ran the London Marathon, having raised hundreds of pounds for Bolton Hospice last year.
