Support for Talking Buses

There are many innovations that can make life easier for blind and partially sighted people.  Everyone will be familiar with the station announcements on trains but we don’t have them on our buses whilst Londoners have stop announcements on their buses.

Whilst it is easy enough for the bus driver, if asked, to call out a particular stop, after a busy day all too often the stop is missed.  The idea of the Talking Bus is that manufacturers should install an audio visual system that will help blind, partially sighted and also deaf people.

If manufacturers install a talking bus system then the costs will be kept to a minimum and it will improve the journeys for all passengers who will be reminded to get off at the right stop.
